Paintings & Drawings In Water ColoursThe Welsh Poppy, Meconopsis cambrica. The Welsh Poppy, Meconopsis cambrica, is a local plant of south west England, and in particular of north Devon, Wales and parts of Ireland. The Welsh Poppy frequently appears as a garden escape often becoming naturalised, especially in Scotland. It's primarily a plant of damp, hilly or rocky habitats often found close to some shade. The plant will flower from midsummer to September. It has an extremely restricted ‘Atlantic’ distribution in Europe, occurring elsewhere only, in northern Spain, Portugal and western France.
